From snazzy soirees to casual beach bashes, there are all kinds of ways to bring in the New Year in Sarasota. Here are just a few:

Downtown Sarasota Pineapple Drop

Definitely the biggest NYE event for the area, the annual “Pineapple Drop” in downtown Sarasota attracts more than 20,000 visitors each year. The block party on Main Street kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on Dec. 31 and features live bands, food and beer vendors, kids games, and a midway. The night concludes with the New Year countdown and Sarasota's hallmark N.Y.E. "Pineapple Drop" at midnight.

NYE Fireworks at Marina Jack

Get your fill of dazzling fireworks at Marina Jack’s fireworks show over the Sarasota bayfront. All areas of the restaurant will open for lunch at 11:00 a.m., and in the evening will transition to special menus and entertainment. The fireworks display takes place at midnight and is a collaboration between Suncoast Charities for Children, Marina Jack, and the City of Sarasota.
